The owner
Steve Tatham, owner of Portland Dairies also delivers the products himself to ensure exceptional service to his customers.
Starting as a 10-year-old milk boy, Steve went on to become a milkman in various areas throughout Lancashire and Greater Manchester. He then became a Senior Manager for large dairy companies throughout England and was instrumental in their expansion and success. He's now come full circle and returned to his roots serving the local household and small businesses in the community - an area very close to his heart.
Steve has extensive knowledge within the Dairy and Logistics industry and started the business after noticing customer service provided by larger companies had become poor due to complacency, and they lost sight that the customer comes first. He noticed the decline in value for the personal touch of knowing your customers, their needs and requirements and doing what you can to meet those needs. This being the case, Portland Dairies are aware of how to provide first-class service and will always attempt to fulfil any sales requests.

You may have noticed that recently, other large dairy companies have announced that they will be bringing an end to the supply of milk in glass bottles. We would like to ensure all of our customers and anyone wishing to place an order with us, that Portland Dairies have no plans to follow suit, and we will continue to supply our fresh British milk to your homes and businesses in eco-friendly, reusable glass bottles (as well as the plastic bottles if preferred).
Please do all you can to keep this great tradition going and aim to combat the severe issue of global warming. Support your local, small, independent dairies who have been keeping the British public supplied with fresh milk and dairy products for over 150 years.
